Dr. David H. Hulsey

Dr. David H. Hulsey and his staff are dedicated to helping their patients keep their teeth for a lifetime in a caring and comfortable environment. Dr. Hulsey was born and raised in Cornelia, Georgia, in the foothills of the Northeast Georgia Mountains, where he developed a love for the great outdoors. He married his high school sweetheart, Donna Caudell in 1978 and they have two daughters, Jennifer and Lindsay. He attended Habersham Central High School, Oxford College of Emory University and Emory University. He was accepted into dental school at Emory University School of Dentistry after only three years of college instead of the traditional four. After graduating from dental school in 1981, he and his wife moved to Athens to begin his dental career. He purchased an existing dental practice from a retiring dentist, Dr. Charles Walker, and hit the ground running. He inherited a lot of very complicated cases and realized very quickly that he had not learned all he needed to know in dental school. Over the years, he has studied and trained with many of the best dentists in the world to gain the skills and confidence he needs to treat even the most complicated dental cases. "The most rewarding thing for me is when a patient comes to me who has lost all hope of saving their teeth and feels their only option is dentures. Through proper diagnosis and treatment, it is often possible to not only save their teeth and give them the ability to chew with comfort, but to give them something even more important, the ability to smile again. This is truly life changing for these patients."
Dr. Hulsey practices in a beautifully restored older home on South Lumpkin Street in the heart of Friendly Five Points. When he is not practicing dentistry he enjoys traveling with his family, hunting, fishing, snow skiing and just about anything outdoors.
